ABOUT

ㅤㅤㅤㅤCIX (씨아이엑스) is a K-Pop boygroup that debuted on July 23, 2019 under C9 Entertainment. The group consists of five members: BX (1998), Seunghun (1999), Yonghee (2000), Bae Jinyoung (2000), and Hyunsuk (2001). They were first introduced by C9 as C9BOYZ.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤBefore debuting in CIX, Bae Jinyoung, who was formerly a Wanna One member, released a solo single titled Hard to Say Goodbye in April. BX appeared as a contestant on MIXNINE, finishing in 9th place which resulted him to earn a spot in the winning group. Much to the fans' disappointment, YG later decided not to debut the group.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤIn 2018, BX and Seunghun competed in YG's survival show called YG Treasure Box for the label's next boy group, TREASURE, where both failed to debut in the finale. Seunghun also made a short appearance in one of Stray Kids (2017) episodes.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤBefore their debut, the group broadcasted their first reality show: HELLO CIX. It aired every Thursday through V LIVE starting from June 4, 2019 and has a total of 10 episodes with special clips uploaded from time to time. On July 23, 2019, CIX finally made their debut with HELLO Chapter 1: Hello, Stranger and the title track Movie Star. The debut showcase was held a day after the release of their first EP, and CIX got their first win exactly 7 days after the debut day on The Show – breaking the record as one of the fastest groups to win first place on music shows.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤOn August 27, C9 Entertainment announced that CIX have signed with Warner Music Japan for their Japanese debut. On October 23, they released their first Japanese track My New World, included in HELLO Chapter 1: Hello, Stranger Japanese ver.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤOn November 19, CIX released their second EP HELLO Chapter 2: Hello, Strange Place with the title track Numb. On April 1, 2020, CIX released their first Japanese single album titled Revival.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤCIX released their third EP album HELLO Chapter 3: Hello, Strange Time on October 27, 2020 along with the official music video for their title track Jungle. The album was originally scheduled to be dropped on June 30, 2020 but later postponed as a result of their decision to prioritize Bae Jinyoung's health who experienced a leg injury. HELLO Chapter 3: Hello, Strange Time sold 23,653 copies on its first day, successfully breaking CIX's previous records. The official music video itself became their most-viewed M/V so far, with the amount of views hitting 4,434,736 in just 24 hours.
